Introduction by the local hosts

For this exceptional Plenary Meeting, French members of IETM have chosen to meet in Avignon. Mythical and emblematic city of European and world theatre, Avignon, which had to cancel its prestigious festival this year (for the second time in its 75-year-old history), appeared to us as the ideal place to address the theme of the Plenary: "What Matters Now?". In partnership with the Théâtre de la Massue, the Manufacture, the city of Avignon and the Région Sud, we have chosen to focus on finding the way to reconstruct international exchanges in terms of networks, production and dissemination. Faithful to the spirit of IETM, the local Plenary meeting in Avignon is intended to be laborious, participatory and festive. Both days will be concomitant with the "Etats Généraux des Festivals" organised by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.
Together against the pandemic, let's invent the exchanges for tomorrow.
This local meeting has reached its maximum capacity. However, the whole local meeting in Avignon will be live-streamed so that you'll be able to join it digitally on the Facebook page of Théâtre de la Massue.
