Performing Arts in (a world in) Transition II (PAT II) was the sequel to our successful 3-year scheme, PAT I, which revolved around such areas as digital shift, the measurable impact of the performing arts and sustainable business models.

From 2017 onwards, we among others continued facilitating the mobility of artists and art works, cross-border collaborations and knowledge exchange both in and outside Europe. The project also included developing an IDEA strategy (Inclusion, Diversity, Equality and Accessibility), to support the network and the sector at large by channeling our efforts to be more inclusive and reach diverse audiences.

The main goals of PAT II were:

• Empowering contemporary performing arts professionals with skills, competencies and know-how that help them to successfully adapt/react to changes in their social, economic and political contexts (caused by globalisation, demographic transformation and the digital shift).
   
• Creating an impact which goes beyond the sole interest of IETM members and event participants, to create a long-term legacy for the cultural landscape in Europe in terms of professionalism, sustainable working practices, business models, international cooperation, and audience development.
   
• Advocating for the value of arts and culture in a changing world and reinforcing the internationalisation, diversity and inclusiveness of the contemporary performing arts.

In addition, PAT II gave us the opportunity to conceive new partnerships with organisations from other sectors, to foster cross-sectorial exchange of expertise and to access new platforms for raising the awareness of the arts sector's value for contemporary societies. Last but not least, it helped us mainstream our dedication to environmental sustainability in all our activities and strategies.
