Despite the challenges of COVID-19 and the drastic impact it has had on the performing arts, 2020 was probably one of the busiest years in IETM’s history. Having an international network like ours during this time proved to be an invaluable asset for our sector at the global level. 

Over 2020, our activities were adapted and intensified to use the crisis as an opportunity to bring concrete support to our sector and to bring current issues to the forefront of policy-makers’ agendas. In 2020, we experienced the digital realm as a valuable tool to stay connected, we successfully explored the possibility of hosting hybrid meetings, we strengthened our advocacy actions, we disseminated new publications based on the sector’s needs, and we initiated and took part in important projects that will set the future trends for the performing arts.
