Historically, citizens in Northern Norway have often considered themselves and their possibilities in opposition to the capital of Oslo as well as to capitalistic interests. At the same time, the region offers many natural resources that often have the interest of business developers outside the region.
In this landscape, Davvi – Centre for Performing Arts has grown to be a space that offers networking, possibilities, and ambitions for the performing arts sector in the region. In this talk, Director Susanne Næss Nielsen introduces some context to how today’s infrastructure for performing arts has developed.
