Three different perspectives on the period of war in Lebanon. What connects them? The theatre. Hanane Hajj Ali and Randa Asmara decided to become actors at the start of the 1980s, in the middle of a civil war in Beirut. Chrystèle Khodr belongs to the post-war generation. She creates a stage for the two actors, who retrace their theatre career and try to reconstruct the memory of this fragmented city.
Blending fiction and personal accounts, they try to draw a map of places that are now gone during the performance. What is it like to do theatre in a war-torn country? This is an opportunity to examine the relationship that these artists maintain with their profession and the need to perform in the last free place.
