International producing organisations: soon the end of the competition (?)
The production context for the performing arts is getting harder in the so called “permanent state of crisis” of the art sector. One can observe the multiplication of independent producing organisations on the international level, places where artists and producers join forces and share their knowledge. One may assume there is a better understanding of the nature of a producing organisation than a few years ago. Moreover, such organisations tend to gather, share knowledge and create coalitions on national and international levels. This session will bring together performing arts producers and their structures from different countries and give them a space to share examples of cooperation, good practices and explain their business models and structures. This session is conceived by three organisations from France, Hungary and Spain, willing to ask the audience: what are our organisations like at reshaping and creating cooperation on local and international levels? Can solidarity and knowledge sharing be common values? How can independent companies and artists around the world empower each other through collaboration and exchange?
