Artistic walk 1: Kitchen of Diversity & Children’s House programmes at Benčić Complex
The Kitchen of Diversity programme manager Lela Vujanić and Children’s House programme manager Jelena Milić will take us to Benčić complex where great things are about to happen. Revitalisation of the former industrial complex “Rikard Benčić” is the centre of Rijeka 2020 infrastructural projects, as it will become a future cultural centre with the City Library, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka City Museum and, finally, the Children’s House. Thanks to this, the Children's House will become a physical space and a model for cooperation between key cultural institutions whose programmes will be developed with the support of local associations for children and youth.
The Diversity Kitchen is a programme dedicated to migration and minorities, an unusual mix of music, cuisine, art and activism. Kitchen includes and celebrates various minority cultures and subcultures: national, ethnic, religious, gender, people with different physical or mental abilities, age or lifestyle… Jelena and Lela will introduce the programmes and talk about their participatory dimension.
Maximum number of participants: 30
Due to construction works in the Benčić complex, this artistic walk is not wheelchair accessible.
