ROUTE 3: Kaspar Hauser. El huérfano de Europa – La Phármaco
On 26 May 1828, a young man appeared in Nüremberg’s Square after being released from a dungeon. Having been isolated here for the majority of his life, he had never seen anyone and was incapable of speech. Kaspar Hauser was a social and political experiment. He suffered abuse, and eventually abandoned the civilised world. Kaspar Hauser. Accompanied by live piano and percussive music, El huérfano de Europa is a solo dance that encapsulates the sensitive dance of someone’s first contact with the world.
La Phármaco was created in 2009 by Luz Arcas and has been influenced by Artaud, Grotowsky, Nijinski, Mats Ek, Ilka Schonbein and the folklore of Spain and other countries.
