ROUTE 4: Class struggle in the arts
The world is becoming polarised and so is the performing arts sector. That’s to say: many countries maintain an observable gap between institutionalised festivals, big venues, and national companies that attract more audiences, and the smaller, marginalized ones, that struggle for their very existence. How can a "middle-class" be regenerated in our performing arts’ system? Should we aim to collaborate better, and to bring the experimentation into the institutions? Or should we open new doors to the talented young creators and cultural workers being pushed to find refuge in the institutions?
This session will be held in Spanish with simultaneous translation into English.
