Andorra is a microstate that in wartime is threatened by a fascist regime, whose troops are deployed on Andorra’s its borders. The fascists pursue Jews. The Andorrans are not anti-Semite. There is no Jewish population in Andorra, except for Andri, a young boy believed to be Jewish whose presumed religion proves to be his fate. 

Andorra is fictional and does not represent the microstate bearing the same name, nor does it refer to another small country with a different name. Max Frisch defined Andorra as a name for a “model”, i.e. For him, it is not about events that took place in the past, but rather about events that could happen at any given time.
