Mudo - Migrations & Chloe Needham (LLAWN Festival)
Working with Conwy artist, Chloe Needham, the concept is based on the gathering of people outside the bathing machines and along the promenade where they interact, immersed in their activity, whether that be culture, being with family or eating their sandwiches, often oblivious to nature at work around them, of the creatures busying themselves with activities that humans are unintentionally mirroring.
Upon entering the bathing machine, the viewer departs from the human sphere and enters the world of the creatures we share the earth with – the ecology of the life that exists just beyond the water’s edge, including murmurations of starlings, shoals of fish, pods of dolphins, crabs, molluscs, starfish, seagulls, seals and jellyfish.
