Culture of Solidarity | The role of Arts&Culture for a Just Transition in Europe
For the next edition of the Culture of Solidarity Fund, the European Cultural Foundation and its partners from North-Western Italy are currently offering inspirational and practical online sessions on the role of culture in Just Transition.
With this second info event the CoS Fund team will address key aspects of why and how the artistic and cultural sector plays a pivotal role in promoting integrated environmental sustainability. Just Transition is in fact more and more becoming a vision-led, unifying and place-based set of principles, processes, and practices of European Union strategies and needs all relevant stakeholders from civic or public organisations and professional communities - especially from the creative field - to make a collective effort in the same direction: making Europe a greener and environmentally conscious place for all.
During this second online gathering European cultural, social and environmental organisations interested in the Just Transition debate will get an idea about the still undervalued role of culture in (regional) transformation processes to a more sustainable future. Participants will have the chance not only to gain insights from policy analysis and practical experiences on the topic from relevant European institutions, EU network representatives and creative practitioners, but will also receive tangible advice on how they can use the Culture of Solidarity Fund as a co-financing opportunity to partner and experiment with culture-led interregional projects that focus on Just Transition.
Speakers:
Ása Richardsdóttir - IETM General Secretary
Borut Cink - New European Bauhaus
Rio Neiva – Associação Defesa Ambiente Portugal
