European Commission announces Iliana Ivanova as the new Commissioner for Culture, Research and Innovation
On 28 June, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced Iliana Ivanova as the next Commissioner, replacing Maryia Gabriel after her recent departure. Ms. Ivanova has been a member of the European Court of Auditors since 2013. Prior to that, she was a member of the European Parliament (2009 and 2012) and a vice-chair of the Committee on budgetary control.
