European cultural mobility for artists and cultural practitioners: what are your needs?

In April 2019 a new European pilot cultural mobility fund will be launched, supported by the European Commission through the Creative Europe programme. Between April and September 2019 eligible artists and cultural professionals will be able to apply for financial support covering a professional purpose abroad within the Creative Europe programme countries*.

A consortium of European partners has been contracted by the European Commission to lead the process and to manage the pilot phase of the cultural mobility fund. Before the test phase of the mobility fund is launched, the partners invite artists and culture professionals to complete a short survey to contribute to the planning. This will help the partners fine-tune the pilot cultural mobility fund to ensure it meets the needs of the sector.

The overall objective of this pilot mobility fund, supported by the European Commission, is to test a cross-national fund that answers the needs of mobile artists and cultural professionals, particularly in terms of duration, objectives and expected impacts on their careers and professional development.

The consortium, led by Goethe-Institut (DE) with its partners Institut français (FR), Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts (LT) and Izolyatsia (UA), are eager to know more about your needs and how you benefit from mobility** in your professional practice.

** In this survey we use 'a mobility' to mean a trip abroad for professional purposes. It might be travelling to an artist residency, to undertake training, to research a market for your product, to present your work in a trade fair, exhibition or showcase, to meet cultural project partners, to attend a conference etc. 'A mobility' might take you outside your own country for a few days or longer than a month. It might involve travelling to one country or to several.
