European Parliament adopts priorities for cultural policy within and beyond the EUs borders
On 16 December, the European Parliament adopted its priorities for the cultural policy within and beyond the EU’s borders.
The European Parliament asked the EU to focus on new priorities for the coming years, which includes improving the working and social conditions of cultural and creative professionals, ensuring the inclusion of the most marginalised and under-represented groups in cultural activities, strengthening the cultural dimension of EU’s external policy and significantly increasing the funding for the Creative Europe programme. Finally, the European Parliament called for the Commission to propose a “European Status of the Artist”.
