IETM Out & About - September and October engagements and upcoming activities
On 17 September Ása, our Secretary General, attended the symposium Choreographic Legacies: Sustaining and Reviving Dance Repertoire. The event was held at Opera Ghent and hosted by STUK, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen and the University of Antwerp. From versatile perspectives, the symposium dove into how one breathes new life into existing dance pieces again and again, so that new and older audiences can (re)experience them.
On 24 September, Ása attended the annual network leaders meeting hosted by Culture Action Europe at their offices in Brussels, where this statement on artistic expression and autonomy of the arts was launched. IETM is one of the statement's endorsers.
On the same day, Culture Action Europe invited MEP´s and network leaders to hear the first summary of the State of Culture Report, to be launched formally on 16 October at an online event open for all.
This week, from September 30 to October 3, three members of the IETM team are in Berlin. Lottie Atkin, IETM´s Communication Manager, is attending this year's COMMUnique group meeting, a gathering of communications professionals from several networks and platforms working in the arts in Europe. Roisin Caffrey, IETM´s Production Manager, is in Berlin alongside Ása for the preparation for the IETM Plenary Meeting 2025.
