IETM takes part in the European Meeting of Artistic Creation
On 4 March 2022, our Secretary General Ása Richardsdóttir will take part in "Re-Creation" – European discussions on artistic creation conference at the Théâtre National de la Colline in Paris, organised by The French Ministry of Culture in the frame of the French Presidency of the European Council.
The conference will gather the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Maryia Gabriel, the French Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, as well as international representatives from cultural institutions, networks and organisations.
On the one hand, the discussions will take stock of the economic, social and artistic consequences of the pandemic on the creative sector, comparing support schemes initiated by various European players and identifying emerging solutions on different topics: the production and dissemination of artworks, the evolution of the audience’s behaviour and attendance, the impact of the digital revolution and the protection of authors’ rights on the legal, economic and technological level.
On the other hand, Re-Creation will also discuss the ways and means to develop European artistic co-operation and co-production, and to encourage the mobility of artworks and artists.
Our Secretary Ása Richardsdóttir will bring IETM and Perform Europe’s voice to the Boosting and supporting artistic production and dissemination in Europe roundtable (14:45-15:45 CET), dedicated to the support and strengthening of production and dissemination of artistic creation in Europe.
