ABUJA INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL AND AWARDS, Dates: November 3-9, 2024; Location: Abuja-Nigeria
In 2023, Arojah Royal Theatre staged the maiden edition of ABITFA with three international guest performances from Jamaica, Ukraine, and Romania; 5 Nigerian performances, from Jos, Port Harcourt, and Abuja; with workshops, masterclasses, and panel discussions, under the theme: Performing Arts, Peacebuilding and the Society.
ABITFA 2024 with the theme: The Art of Humanity, will be held between November 3-9; with ten (10) performances from Nigeria and abroad, masterclasses, workshops, seminars, and panel discussions. We hope to immerse ourselves and our audience in "The Art of Humanity," where the power of the stage intersects with the essence of our shared responsibility and the beauty inherent in the human spirit.
ABITFA is designed to be the biggest artistic showcase in the city of Abuja and will on an annual basis include complementary awards to deserving individuals and organisations in recognition of their contributions to the art scene in Nigeria
Performances & Participation
Participation at the festival is open to performing troupes from around the world, both by invitation and selection process. Already, we have shows from France, Netherlands, Spain, and the Republic of Ireland already programmed for the festival, in addition to four others from across Nigeria.
Professional Programmes
Impactful and professionally curated workshops, masterclasses, panel discussions, and networking sessions which will provide an opportunity to dig into some global performing art issues.

ABITFA 2024 is open to interested participants - theatre makers, journalists, festival programmers, producers, policymakers - as delegates from across the world, to our festivals, and to enjoy the beauty of Abuja!
