Exec Director opportunity with outdoor arts experts Walk the Plank
At Walk the Plank, we’ve established ourselves as a leading name in the world of outdoor arts and, along the way, inspired artists and communities to create incredible work that reflects the diversity of cultures and places in which we are invited to work.
Our appetite for new creative adventures remains undiminished but the landscape in which we create and produce ground-breaking work is rapidly changing. Meanwhile, our making and fabrication facilities in Salford, and learning partnerships worldwide, afford new opportunities, as does our trading subsidiary, Walk the Plank Fireworks. This is why we’re seeking an entrepreneurial and creative-thinking Executive Director to join us at this important stage in our development as we look to sustain our work locally, nationally and internationally.
An inspirational figure with proven business acumen and a strategic approach, you’ll be working alongside our co-founders, directors and our board to ensure that we stay on track to achieve our vision to become an internationally significant innovator, creator and educator in outdoor arts.
With an ever-changing funding climate and the increasing pressures on us to deliver more for less, your creative business approach to problem solving will come to the fore. Your experience of financial management and governance will enable us to tread a careful path towards new ventures and partnerships while meeting our reporting obligations as a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England, and statutory compliance around health and safety across our business.
As we head towards our 30th anniversary in 2022 we’ve come a long way since navigating the British coastline with the UK’s first touring theatre ship. Join us in our RIBA-award winning home to steer us forward, metaphorically, to an exciting future, drawing on your combined talents of sound business management and strategic thinking.
Walk the Plank is committed to equal opportunities and, as part of our aim to reflect the diversity of our audiences, we actively seek applications from BAME communities and other minority groups.
We particularly welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds, or those with unconventional career paths.
