The publication reports a working session at IETM Valencia about setting out a vision for diversity in the arts – focusing on opportunities and aesthetics specifically related to different abilities being represented in the arts.
Four speakers from the dance sector shared their experiences and ideas on where disability should be represented on stage and backstage today and what opportunities this offers in terms of evolving aesthetics of performing arts.
Participation is FREE (subject to availability), however you are invited to register before Wednesday 26 June by sending an email to [email protected] and bring some drinks or crisps to share with others.
WHAT IS THE INTERNATIONAL TRAINING FOR ARTS INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS ?
Through a series of 4 to 6 sessions this year, the Training will gather in Lyon artists, cultural managers and other creative players to enhance their ability to work internationally.
The Training has been designed by Sergio Chianca (BuroKultur) and Nicolas Bertrand, who will implement and facilitate the upcoming sessions.
The Training will make use of publications from the IETM network and other international stakeholders to engage a conversation between participants on international collaborations' issues.
Sessions will be held in English in order to improve our use of the language (whatever our level is).
THE RULES OF THE TRAINING ARE SIMPLE
1) Before the Training, you read the publication, either in English (https://www.ietm.org/en/system/files/publications/other_abilities.pdf) or French (https://www.ietm.org/fr/system/files/publications/other_abilities.pdf),so that all participants understand the topic of the conversation.
2) On Monday, 1st of Jully, you join the Practice at 5PM (it will start on time). Participants make a summary of the text, they set out the context, highlight and analyse key notions and relate their personal experiences to the topic. Participants are also invited to ask and share questions and remarks about the language issues they may have had. The session will end at 7PM.
