Job Opportunity - Project Assistant
Cryptic are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Project Assistant to join our small, busy arts company based in Glasgow City Centre. We have a core team of six people and employ many freelance artists and contractors throughout the year. Knowledge of the arts sector is not essential. We are looking for a person who has an interest in the arts, is pro-active, learns quickly and values excellence.
This post is part funded by the Glasgow Guarantee Employability Support Initiative targeted at reducing and sustaining unemployment levels for Glasgow citizens. All applicants must be able to evidence that they live within the Glasgow City Council boundaries and are unemployed/underemployed or facing redundancy.
Every day at Cryptic is different – one day you might be organising an artist’s trip to Argentina and the next logging company financial expenditure or helping promote one of our many exciting events throughout the year. Day to day, you will support the full team and ensure the smooth running of our busy office. This will involve marketing and project specific tasks across our three main programmes of work: Cryptic Nights, Cryptic Artists and Sonica.
You will be organised and resourceful with excellent attention to detail and a passion for the arts. We are seeking someone who is qualified to HNC or HND level or equivalent and/or with relevant experience within the arts or administrative/office environment for at least one year. There is a probationary period of three months attached to this employment after which a review will take place.
Full details of the list of duties the Project Assistant will undertake can be found on our website along with a list of essential skills - https://www.cryptic.org.uk/work-with-us/
This is a full time position with a salary of £20,000 per annum. The role will be based in Cryptic's office at the Centre for Contemporary Arts at 350 Sauchiehall Street Glasgow, G2 3JD. The building and our office are both fully accessible. More details can be found on CCA’s website including a downloadable Accessibility Guide (https://www.cca-glasgow.com/about-cca/access-statement).
