About

Made in Scotland Festival brings six dance, theatre and music performances presented as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to Brussels. Representing a dynamic and rich microcosm of Scotland’s contemporary culture, you are invited to join us at one of our partner venues from the 11 – 14 June, to experience shows that span the intimate, provocative, inviting, evocative, radical, relevant and fun. All tickets to performances and events are free and you can book your tickets from 9 May 2019.

We have teamed up with Halles Saint-Géry in the centre of Brussels to provide a festival hub throughout the week, with talks, workshops and events during the day, and meeting points, gatherings and drinks late into the night after each show.

Made in Scotland Festival will end in style following the final performance, with a closing party at Recyclart’s new venue in Manchesterstraat on the 14 June. Featuring DJs from Scotland and Brussels, we invite everyone to come and celebrate with us.

Explore the programme, book your tickets, join us for our closing party, all are welcome.

All English language in the performances will be made available in French and Flemish.

Arts Industry Programme

As well as bringing an exciting programme of work to Belgian audiences, Made in Scotland Festival Brussels invites artists and professionals from Brussels, Belgium, Scotland and across Europe to engage with a series of events throughout the week at our Festival Hub. Using dynamic and discursive formats that will enable participation from all in attendance, the events aim to build on this unique moment of gathering between the arts communities of Brussels, Belgium, Scotland and Europe.

The programme has been devised to respond to essential and urgent contemporary themes of our time and within our sector: Inclusion, Migration, Practice and Place. Exploring these themes in an international context, they also interconnect and relate to each other. Within that we will have speakers and contributors working in and between dance, theatre and music.

In order to facilitate inclusive, dynamic and participative conversation in a friendly and informal setting, we have asked our moderators to use non-traditional formats for these sessions and we will move away from the usual panel/audience format.

These events take place in our Festival Hub at Halles Saint-Géry from 10.00 -18.00, which is also a social meeting point for artists and arts professionals throughout the festival until 01:00 every day. Discussion events are for anyone working in or connected to development of artistic projects, programmes, companies, funds or policies across Europe.

Informal opportunities will also be hosted throughout the week.
