Movement research workshop for disabled dancers and call for upcoming creation with Adrienn Hód – Hodworks / Unusual Symptoms

For their upcoming creation at Theater Bremen, hungarian choreographer Adrienn Hód/Hodworks and dance company Unusual Symptoms are looking for disabled dancers to join the company for their next creation. In preparation of the creati- on, Adrienn Hód is hosting a two-day movement research workshop for disabled dancers in cooperation with tanzfähig in Berlin. The workshop will take place on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th from 11 am to 5.30 pm at Ufer- studios Berlin. In order to participate in the workshop, availability and interest in the upcoming creation is not a must. All dancers with interest in the workshop only are invited to register.

The creative process of Adrienn Hód is based on detailed improvisation and phy- sical self-reflection and aims towards finding new forms of movement, rethinking the possibilities inherent in contemporary dance. It emphasises the complexity and radicalism of personal expression, laying bare the multilayered constructs of identity. Her workshop will offer an intimate space to mutually explore personal patterns of movement and perception and carefully reach beyond. It aims to en- courage participants to find and experiment with new forms of performative pre- sence through physical and verbal improvisation. During the workshop there will be sufficient space and time for sharing feedback and creating an ongoing dialogue. The workshop will be held in english wih the possibility of german translation. It will be hosted by Adrienn Hód and long-term artistic collaborator and dancer Csaba Molnár together with dancers from Unusual Symptoms.

The workshop is open to all ages and genders. Dancers and performers who are interested in the upcoming creation, but can not participate in the workshop, are still invited to get in touch and send their material. Rehearsals for the new creati- on will take part in June/July and September 2020 in Bremen, the premiere is set for October 8th 2020. Rehearsal times and blocks can be adjusted individually to personal availability until a certain extent.

Registration for the workshop is possible until March 16th. In case there is more registrations than available slots, there will be a selec- tion of participants until March 20th.
