Open call: IETM Focus Brussels 2022 Artistic Programme
On 7-8 April 2022, IETM will be hosting a new type of event in Brussels: the IETM Focus Meeting. We expect around 200 professionals from performing arts organisations of around 40 countries to come to Brussels to work together around the pressing issue of Fair Practises in the performing arts sector. The Focus will consist of a dynamic brainstorming event with a view to creating an agenda and action plan to be shared with the wider sector.
As always at IETM, our event programme will be complemented by an evening artistic programme, to showcase the current contemporary performing arts offer in Brussels and to represent the local artistic landscape.
This is an open call for artists and organisations which would have performances on offer from 6-9 April, in the Brussels region and any of the surrounding communes that are easily reachable by public transport at performance times. We are also looking for a pre-meeting artistic activity on 6 April that would allow a small group of event participants to immerse themselves in the Belgian performing arts landscape.
Who can apply?
Please fill out the ad hoc application form before 28 February if:
- You have a relevant artistic programmation on 6-9 April and wish to be featured on the programme of the IETM Focus Brussels meeting.
- You wish to offer a parallel activity to a small group of IETM participants (max. 30-45) on 6 April, such as a networking activity with local artists, a cultural visit, an artistic discussion, any other type of communal or informal activity.
Important notice
Our aim with this call is to list and promote already existing performances — not to produce anything new.
Because Brussels is hosting our meeting, we would like to give a small promotional support to what is already on offer by communicating it directly to our members and meeting participants.
Likewise, the idea behind the call for pre-meeting activities proposals is to open the doors of local practises in order to create opportunities for local practitioners to exchange informally with their international peers.
What are the conditions?
- The submitted performance or activity must be relevant for the contemporary performing arts sector (theatre, dance, circus, street arts, mime, music, new media, performance art, interdisciplinary live art forms, puppetry and object theatre, site-specific work) and adapted for an international audience (English subtitles, etc.).
- The applying party must either be based in Belgium or have the consent of their Belgian-based partner prior to their application.
- By applying, you allow IETM to publish the details of your performance in the context of the IETM Brussels Focus meeting programme.
- By applying, you agree to share and publish detailed information about the accessibility of the venue and the performance to be included in the IETM Brussels Focus meeting programme.
- By applying, you agree to reserve a minimum of seats for IETM participants (number to be defined with the venue, in proportion to room capacity).
- Price of tickets for IETM participants is your decision. IETM will not make any compensation in exchange of your performance.
