The Scottish government has reimposed a £6.6m budget cut on arts body Creative Scotland
IETM is saddened to relay that despite the extensive campaign by the Scottish arts sector earlier this year, a £6.6m budget cut was reintroduced a week ago as part of the Scottish government's autumn budget. Read Creative Scotland´s official announcement here.
This is a blow to an already fragile art sector which still deals with the consequences of COVID-19 and is faced with an ongoing energy crisis and rise of inflation. The UK's departure from the European Union has already meant isolation and loss of funding for many Scottish arts organisations and IETM members who previously took active part in cross border collaborations through Creative Europe and other EU funding programmes.
