We are looking for a new member for our Board of Directors
Monday, 30 March: Following the cancellation of IETM Tromsø Plenary Meeting due to the COVID-19 outbreak, IETM's Board of Directors has unanimously decided to postpone the network’s General Assembly until the IETM Belgrade Plenary Meeting (1 - 4 October 2020). Consequently, the call for a new member of the Board of Directors is extended until the 1st of September. Learn more about this decision.
Are you interested in getting more involved in IETM’s life? We are looking for one new member for our Board of Directors - the body responsible for the long-term strategic and financial development of the network.
The Board’s role
Board members are dedicated IETM members who give their time and effort to the supervision and governance of the organisation. They actively make decisions on the development of the network with a focus on the financial, legal and management projects of IETM.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate has been an IETM member for at least three years and in this instance, ideally has experience in cultural policy and advocacy, preferably at an international level.
How to apply?
Read the IETM Governance Structure and submit your application form before the 1st of September at midnight. Please note that your nomination should be supported by three different IETM members.
We aim for the composition of the Board of Directors to be as diverse as possible in terms of gender, age, geographic location, size of the organisation, professional roles, identity etc.
What happens next?
The Board of Directors will review the applications and will get back to you with their decision by the end of March 2020. The selected candidate will be voted on during the General Assembly in IETM Belgrade Plenary Meeting (1 - 4 November 2020).
Important practicalities
- Board meetings take place twice a year in connection to IETM’s Plenary meetings and an average of two to four times a year via Skype or live in Brussels. In addition, the Board and Advisors meet online via Zoom every first Wednesday of the month at 11:00 CET.
- Board members have an informal dinner with the Advisors and the Secretariat on Wednesday evening before the start of each plenary meeting.
- Board members and Advisors usually meet on Thursday mornings from 10:00 to 12:00 at each plenary meeting.
Taking part in the Board of Directors is a voluntary activity with no remuneration or reimbursement of travel costs to the meetings. However, when live meetings are held in Brussels, the network covers the travel and accommodation of the Board.
