In memoriam: Nevenka Koprivšek (1959 - 2021)

It is with great sadness we at IETM have learnt that the Slovenian artistic director and innovator Nevenka Koprivšek has passed away.

Nevenka was a long-time IETM member, board member, initiator and pillar of various sister networks such as Balkan Express, Danse Bassin Méditerranée, Theorem. She was one of the leading figures in the Slovenian contemporary performing arts scene for decades, former artistic director of Glej, founder of Bunker, Stara mestna elektrarna and Mladi Levi, to name just a few of the important projects and structures Nevenka influenced and shaped.

Her mark on new developments in the European and international performing arts scene is invaluable. 

Her passion for the artform and artists, her deep knowledge of the needs of the sector and her determination to always fight for the less privileged was felt by everyone who got to know Nevenka.  

IETM is deeply grateful to Nevenka for her contributions towards the networks for decades, always reminding us that we can do better, more, greater; for those who are less fortunate.

We send Nevenka´s family, friends and colleagues our most sincere condolences.
