Bio

Operating since 2001, Zō centro culture contemporanee, the only "multidisciplinary programming organization" in Italy recognized by the Mibac (art. 39), is situated in an ex sulphur refinery, part of a group of factories dating back to the last century. According to an agreement with the Catania Town Council (owner of the building), the centre is managed by the associazione culturale Zō, composed by local cultural operators. Born to organize multidisciplinary events with different requirements and characteristics, Zō Centro Culture Contemporanee is a space which is continuously changing, a space for programming and for producing artistic projects in the fields of theater, music electronic and neoclassical, world music and jazz, circus and contemporary dance. It hosts and develops workshops and seminars for amateurs and professionals in synergy with universities, academies and music institutes as well as specialized sectoral associations at national and European level, aiming at promoting the diffusion of all contemporary artistic and cultural expression. Zō centro culture contemporanee's activities address all age groups and audiences, but with particular attention to young people and students offering theatre and cultural events for primary and secondary school, theatre, concerts, dance shows and circus festivals for both specific and general public.
