On June 14th Volcano Theatre held their first open day, welcoming young people aged 14 - 21 from their community to a matinée performance of Sincere as Objects – a unique collaboration where the performance was created after the set was designed, where ‘performance is led by design, by image, by the way that things look in dreams’. Their guests were invited to explore the set after the performance and spend some time backstage, experimenting with lighting and sound. They then sat down with the director, set designer and the cast for a relaxed yet lively discussion (and some excellent Turkish pides!).
Volcano Theatre are looking forward to seeing them again at their first theatre craft workshop scheduled for early August and working together on their IETM Local Journey for Change.
