Culture of consent and consensus
How the performing arts can challenge the cultures prevailing in our societies and foster ’togethering’ instead of ‘othering’? This session will explore how we can model and present alternative ideas and communities, and work together towards building a culture of consent, and consensus, aware of the inequalities and polarisation in the wider cultures we are working in.
How consent-aware are we when we interact and engage with audiences and participants? As individuals and artists, how do we respect people’s agency and autonomy whilst fostering connection? If the personal is political, how do our art and our actions contribute to making change in the world?
