Rijeka 2020 participation programme: Civil Initiatives and Green Wave
Marija Katalinić, Participatory Programme Manager at Rijeka 2020, will present one of the priorities of the Rijeka 2020 project: encouraging active involvement of citizens in shaping the socio-cultural scene of Rijeka and partnering with local communities. Through Civil Initiatives and Green Wave programs, citizens are able to propose, develop and implement projects addressing concrete problems or improving living conditions.
The Civil Initiatives programme aims to actively involve citizens in creating cultural and social programmes, and to improve the production and organisational capacities of informal civilian groups and individuals.
The aim of the Green Wave project is to fill the city’s areas, squares, streets, windows and balconies with remedial, fragrant, edible and indigenous herbs by 2020.
