Don Quixote - Yekaterinburg State Puppet Theatre, followed by a Q&A
Don Quixote is about dreams, fantasies, subtle game. The characters of the Miguel de Cervantes’ book have long existed as mythological figures, known by everyone, regardless of one’s acquaintance with the original source.
The main emphasis in the performance is made on the creation and construction of visual effects: puppets of different size and technique, complex mechanical structures and sets, special lighting. Stories of love, friendship, war and death are told in different chapters.
The production was awarded the GRAND PRIX at the IX International Puppet Theatre Festival "Petrushka the Great" and nominated for the Golden Mask National Theatre Award 2019 in two nominations: Puppetry / Best Production and Puppetry / Best Stage Design.
Duration: 75 minutes
Genre: Puppetry
