Come on, Lotreamon! - Mesto Theatre Olga Komleva, followed by a Q&A
Come on, Lautreamont! is a synthesis of video, original electronic music and contemporary dance. The performance explores the landmark for the history of art text The Songs of Maldoror by Comte De Lautreamont, which was written in the 19th century and influenced the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century to become the forerunner of surrealism. This gloomy cynical text is rich in many bright grotesque images and characters.
A multi-channel video installation, that was created for the performance, is projected onto all the walls of the chamber hall, placing the audience inside the surrealistic comic book space. And specially composed soundtrack is part of the audio-visual component of the performance.
