Visit of the neighbourhood of La SaulaieMeeting point: Mémo (Médiathèque Municipale d’Oullins), Rue de la République, 69600 Oullins | Event Map Grounded between the railway and the A7 motorway, La Saulaie is an old working-class district that used to be home to the SNCF railway workshops. Between industrial wastelands and run-down buildings, the Metropolis of Lyon and the Municipality of Oullins are designing a "revitalised sustainable eco-district". Rehabilitation, transformation, development... The urban development project is planned over a dozen years with the aim of improving the living environment, opening up the city centre and improving connections with the urban area. How do the inhabitants participate in defining this urban project? What role do performing arts and culture play in this transformation? The actors of the urban project will guide us through the district of La Saulaie, its history and the projects that are being drawn up, its working class culture and the culture that could be invented there.
