In the 8ème arrondissement of Lyon, we will visit two very different but emblematic structures of the Lyon performing arts scene. Participants will be able to discover local projects and discuss aesthetics, artistic creation as well as audience development via the topic of disability in the arts. We will get inspiration from local initiatives to reflect on the status of the European cultural sector when it comes to creating equal opportunities for disabled artists and professionals.

Visit of Nouveau Théâtre du 8ème (NTH8)Location: Nouveau Théâtre du 8e, 22 Rue du Commandant Pegout, 69008 Lyon | Event Map | Venue Accessibility Based in the United States neighbourhood, in the 8th district of Lyon, the Compagnie des Trois-Huit has been developing an original experience in association with other artists and companies on a regional and international scale, since 2003. Based in the NTH8 / Nouveau Théâtre du 8e, their research work focuses on contemporary writing, as well as on the transmission of theatrical practices and on infusing art into the urban communities. At the NTH8, we can find (among others) teams in the process of creation, apprentice performers in training, children, teenagers, residents who are participating in artistic workshops, a Theatre and French Sign Language department and more. The NTH8 team will present its approach as a collective, its projects and the process of transmission to young artistic groups in which it is involved. Speakers |

Access for disabled audiences in an institutional contextLocation: Maison de la Danse, 8 Av. Jean Mermoz, 69008 Lyon | Event Map | Venue Accessibility As a place where dance and the most diverse aesthetics meet, the Maison de la Danse strongly claims to be welcoming all audiences. The Maison de la Danse team will present the numerous mediation actions they have put in place to tackle interpretation of choreographic works in French Sign Language, audio description services, production of shows in specialised institutions. This will also be an opportunity to talk about the municipal public policy that aims to support the creation of a more accessible cultural offer. During our visit, we will also get to know Numéridanse, the multimedia dance platform which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
