Generation Gaps
There’s much to be gained from reciprocal exchange of experiences and opinions between generations. However, our organisational structures and working practices often don’t encourage intergenerational learning and instead reinforce a generational hierarchy. How can we ensure that there is more generational balance in our organisations and projects? How can we make more courageous and less conservative decisions in our human resource management to address this divide? Can you envision a young person running a large organisation? And Why or Why not? How can we also support experimentation and risk-taking in the careers of more experienced colleagues? Shouldn’t we be able to work with all generations?
