MOCKOB-SELIM - Ohi pezoume
Based on a 19th century novel by the famous Greek novelist G. Viziinos, the performance tells the story of a Turk who, seeking his father’s approval, goes so far as to even change his national and religious identity. His life was made of endless border crossings in the war-torn East, fleeing from or approaching authoritative figures from his family, the military and society. He and his story now become a choreographed spectacle on a mad jester’s stage. Since 2004, Ohi Pezoume has created 15 productions, many of which are a part of the so-called UrbanDig Project. Initiated and run by Ohi Pezoume, UrbanDig Project looks into the secrets of buildings or public spaces in the city through site-specific performances.
