Kafeneia / Documenting the Crisis - Anestis Azas - Prodromos Tsinikoris
The young directors Anestis Azas and Prodromos Tsinikoris, who live and work between Athens and Berlin, have worked together since 2011. Influenced by their experience as assistants to the German group Rimini Protokoll, they started to develop documentary theatre performances related to the ongoing Greek crisis. The team will be presenting videos and recreated elements of previews performances: "Travelling by train", a play about the collapse of the Greek public railway (Athens 2011); Epidaurus – “a critic retrospective view of the Epidaurus Festival” (documentary); "Telemachus - Should I stay or should I go?" (Berlin/Athens 2013), an on stage confrontation between two generations of Greek immigrants in Germany ("Gastarbeiter" of the 60s and young people who leave Greece today because of the financial crisis).
