Peripatoi / Athens: Past, Present and Future - AbOvo
AbOvo takes you on a theatrical walk through the past, present and future of Athens, the city symbolic of the world financial crisis. As we walk, landmarks of Athens come to life through stories of ancient Greece, of today’s reality and of the yet unknown future, through the performances of five young theatre companies that emerged from AbOvo’s Bob Theatre Festival. AbOvo is a Le Coq-trained physical and devised theatre company. Their first show, originally programmed to play for 10 nights, ended up playing for 3 years, gathering more than 13.000 spectators. In 2008 AbOvo initiated Bob Theatre Festival, a platform for emerging theatre companies. With a steady audience of more than 3.000 people, Bob Theatre Festival has become one of Athens’ major theatre manifestations.
