Peripatoi / Walking in the Waste Land - ASIPKA
Asipka invites us on a walk through the city, wondering “is there mythology in a new city?” Asipka Theatre Group was founded in 2007 by director Dimitris Bitos and actress Irini Drakou, who wanted to develop a new language in performance, a space between representation and presence. Since 2007, the company has created more than 10 productions, presenting them in various theatre institutions and spaces in Greece. Among others, the company has been invited to create new work for the National Theatre of Greece (Stoes – 2011) and for the Athens & Epidaurus Festival in the Small Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus (Antigone by Sophocles - 2012). Τhe group mostly creates via lab work on small islands in Greece.
