Gob Squad and HAU invite you to Mehringplatz, a round square in the Kreuzberg district, in the direct vicinity of the HAU - Hebbel am Ufer theatre. For the last years, Gob Squad has been making work on, with and for the neighbourhood, as well as building on HAU’s long term engagement to connect HAU’s community programme. In this walk & talk, they will introduce their neighbourhood projects and give an insight into what it’s like when performance explicitly invites local community in. Moderated by an artist from Gob Squad and dramaturg Stella Konstantinou from HAU, participants will have a chance to ask questions about Gob Squad’s creative process, HAU’s presence in the area and the work that the HAU to Connect programme is doing in Kreuzberg.
We recommend to dress appropriately for the weather, as the session takes place outdoors.

The digital stage HAU4 is a platform for the connection between performances & technology and gaming culture. The programme is presented both online and on the theatre stages. On 15 May, HAU will present outstanding HAU4 artists. The audience has the opportunity to immerse themselves in hybrid performances, interactive XR experiments and various game worlds. At the centre is the question of how an artistic perspective can be productive in dealing with social change, in which commercial technology and authoritarian politics are becoming increasingly intertwined. There will be an opportunity to engage in dialogue with the artists.
