This interactive workshop-networking session explores how independent artists/groups and institutions can build equitable partnerships, especially in cultural programs for underrepresented children and youth. Rather than offering so-called ‘best practices’, it invites participants to reflect on collaboration as a continuous (un-)learning process within systemic barriers in the Eurocentric cultural and societal landscape.
The session includes:
- A brief input on Taking Flight with Us, highlighting Sisyphos, der Flugelefant’s collaborative approach and the realities of freelancer- institution cooperation;
- Group activities to share experiences, identify challenges, and co-develop a framework for equitable and sustainable partnership;
- Networking through action, including rapid-fire idea-sharing and feedback;
- A closing reflection to build meaningful connections.
This session is for artists, cultural workers and institutional partners committed to rethinking collaboration as a long-term, evolving practice.
