“Before and after” is a presentation of projects by YELP danceco which respond to the rapidly changing times in Greece “Before” addresses the connections between dance and philosophy, and taking place at the Laboratory of Thought. "After" presents dance events which respond to the recent changes in artistic, social, financial and communication relations, enhancing collectivity through open calls, public interventions, collective choreography projects, etc. Is methodology influenced by social and financial circumstances? YELP danceco. was founded in London by the choreographer Mariela Nestora and is now based in Athens. YELP has performed in the UK (The Place Commissions, The Video Place), Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, France, Romania, Estonia, Denmark and Greece (Athens Festival, Patras European Capital of Culture, Onassis Cultural Centre, Kalamata Dance Festival, etc). Mariela Nestora studied Biology and Human Molecular Genetics in the UK, dance and choreography at the London Contemporary Dance School, and Visual Design for Dance at the Laban Centre.
