Kafeneia / Tomorrow in a Cup - Zoi Dimitriou
The starting point of “Tomorrow in a cup” is the ritual of ‘coffee reading’. In the grounds of Greek coffee at the bottom of a cup, three performers search for pieces of the future: interpreting symbols for the future and retrieving memories and experiences from the past. Their clairvoyant readings are expressed through movement and text. The choreographer and dancer Zoi Dimitriou has studied at the Greek State School of Dance, Trisha Brown (NY) and Trinity Laban (UK). The work of her company has been featured in internationally renowned venues and festivals and has brought the choreographer major UK choreography awards. She teaches at Trinity Laban in London, Impulstanz Festival in Vienna, Marameo in Berlin, Duncan Research Centre for Dance in Athens among others.
