Theatre ENTROPIA’s production «P.I.G.S./Sotiria (Salvation/ Rescue)» developed through research and residencies in Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Portugal, Belgium and Greece in collaboration with local organizations and artists, will premiere in Athens. The acronym Ρ.Ι.G.S. (Portugal – Ireland - Greece – Spain), used as a concise manner of reference to the economically troubled countries of the Eurozone, consists of a contemporary version of the historic, sociological phenomenon of the invocation of negative national stereotypes in crucial periods. 
The term serves as pretext for a performance that attempts to raise reasonable questions about the quality of our democracies and the maturity of European Union addressing them in a playful and humorous manner, to investigate the current financial, political and social crisis, to debate the stereotypes of the past and to reflect on our vision for the future.  With the support of the European Cultural Foundation.
