Nobody Home - Daria Bukvić

Artistic programme

Sometimes you need theatre to survive.

In 1989, four children were born in a safe bed in Iran, Syria and Bosnia. During the next eleven years they all fled to the Netherlands. In 2009 Daria, Vanja, Majd and Saman met at the Theatre Academy in Maastricht. Five years later they tell their remarkable life stories in Nobody Home.

Together with their families, they set out on a journey to search for the roots of their existence in the Netherlands. A country in which the political stands on refugees have changed drastically over the last twenty years and in which the dynamics between 'us' and 'them' are constantly subject to the current of public thought.
