The Radicalisation of Sadettin K. - Troubleman
The Radicalisation of Sadettin K. is a society critical, hyper personal portrait, in which Sadettin Kirmiziyuz checks the balance of his work and his life.
Why, he asks himself, have I never radicalised? That question leads him to Syria, the Schilderswijk district in the Hague, his childhood, his family members, but also to right wing blogs such as ‘Nederland mijn Vaderland.’ He switches between the perspectives of the radical that travels to Syria and the apostate muslim that is cast out by his community and simultaneously embraced by Western society. That conflict reveals painful doubts and seemingly unbridgeable dilemmas, as well as the loneliness and emptiness behind the jest.
