Europe at a Crossroads
By now, we have got used to complexity, contrasts, and tensions. However, peace and integration as have prevailed in Europe over the last fifty years are proving more fragile than we thought. In this context, culture reflects the state of a society, while imagining its possible futures. Admittedly, standing at a crossroads is nothing new. Yet today's crossroads seem to propose directions never taken before and thus even harder to envision. Let's call it crisis in the wider sense, which includes the incentive to reflect collectively upon ways out of it.
