City marketing is unimaginable without culture and arts. However, a closer look reveals a focus on festivals and single events instead of continuous art programmes. It may be understandable from a payback point of view, but festivals could be perceived as monopolizing both audiences and financial support. Meanwhile, arts professionals are striving to find stability in producing and living whilst also building relations with programmers, producers, audiences and territories. This working session will focus on how to preserve a balanced ecosystem for the performing arts.
