ROUTE 3: Cross-overs
Art deals with everything that exists and everything that does not. It can have an effect on and be influenced by any aspect of life: social care, science, medicine, technology, sport, etc. Whilst being constantly tested for their “broader impact” on other sectors, how can art and culture contribute to and borrow from other domains? What compromises (if any) does this bring to the arts? This session will showcase a few examples of projects that intertwine art with other spheres, and open up a debate on the potential risks and benefits of the “cross-over” approach to culture and the arts.
